The short answer

Why Blinkimg is the best iLoveIMG alternative

iLoveIMG is a toolbox: one tool, one task, one step at a time. Blinkimg is one drop that compresses, converts, resizes and caps the size together, and it writes the web formats iLoveIMG cannot.

  1. 01Images at once

    50iLoveIMG: 30 a task

    A bigger batch, one drop

Drop 50 photos and take them back as one ZIP. iLoveIMG takes 30 files a task.

  2. 02WebP and AVIF out

    YesiLoveIMG: No

    The formats websites want

iLoveIMG writes JPG, PNG and GIF. Here the same drop can write WebP or AVIF.

  3. 03Exact size target

    YesiLoveIMG: No

    A number, not a guess

Its compressor has no setting. Here you type 100 KB and every file lands at or under it.

  4. 04HEIC out

    4 formatsiLoveIMG: JPG only

    iPhone photos, any format

Our 1,956 KB HEIC measured 473.7 KB as AVIF, 50% under its own JPG.

  5. 05Steps in one run

    AlliLoveIMG: One a task

    Compress, convert, resize together

Pick the format, the size and the pixels once. iLoveIMG runs each as its own task.

What iLoveIMG does well, and where it stops

iLoveIMG is a popular, well-run toolbox from the makers of iLovePDF. Its limits are about formats and control, not trust.

What iLoveIMG does well

  • Thirteen tools in one place

Compress, resize, crop, convert to and from JPG, a photo editor, upscale, remove background, watermark, meme generator, rotate, HTML to image and blur face.

  • AI tools

Upscaling and background removal, with 2,000 AI credits on Premium.

  • Rare formats in

Compresses GIF and SVG, and its Convert to JPG reads RAW, PSD, TIF, HEIC and WebP.

  • Security on paper

Files deleted within two hours, ISO/IEC 27001 certification, and a Europe-based company under GDPR.

  • Big uploads, cloud import, apps

200 MB a task, Google Drive and Dropbox import, a desktop app and a mobile app through iLovePDF.

Where iLoveIMG stops

  • No WebP or AVIF output

Convert from JPG makes PNG and GIF. No tool it lists writes WebP or AVIF.

  • No size or quality control

Its compressor states that every image gets the best quality and filesize ratio. There is nothing to set.

  • One tool, one task

Converting, compressing and resizing a batch are three separate tasks, each with its own upload.

  • Single-file tools

Crop and the photo editor take one file at a time; upscaling one file up to 6 MB.

  • Ads on the free plan

Its pricing table lists an ad-free service as a Premium feature.

Measured, not claimed

Our numbers on real files, and how to test both

Every figure is a file our engine produced. iLoveIMG publishes no numbers of its own, so the fair test is your files through both.

  • Rule 1

    Start from the same original

Give both tools the file straight from the camera or phone, never an output of the other.
  • Rule 2

    Compare like with like

iLoveIMG keeps the format it is given, so compare its JPG with our JPG, then look at our AVIF.
  • Rule 3

    Open both at full size

If you cannot see a difference at 100%, the smaller file is the better result.

Every byte count is the size of the actual file our engine produced from the named source, the same bytes you would download, not an estimate. The reference photo is one of our own photographs, an iguana on a branch, and the camera photo is a real one too. Drop your own file into the tool above to rerun any of them. How we measure names the sources and the settings.

Edge cases

The awkward jobs, answered

  • An iPhone photo for a website

    Blinkimg

HEIC in, WebP or AVIF out, in the same drop as your JPGs.

    iLoveIMG

Convert to JPG only, then compress it as a second task.

  • A form that wants under 100 KB

    Blinkimg

Type 100 into Max file size. Every file lands at or under it.

    iLoveIMG

Its compressor has no setting, so you check each result and try again.

  • A 120 MB drone photo

    Blinkimg

Over the 30 MB free cap. Pro takes 90 MB a file and Pro Max 1 GB.

    iLoveIMG

Fits a free task, which takes 200 MB across all its files.

  • An animated GIF

    Blinkimg

Refused with a clear message: GIF and animated images are not supported yet.

    iLoveIMG

Compresses GIF, and Convert from JPG can make an animated GIF.

  • A photo with GPS in it

    Blinkimg

EXIF and GPS are stripped by default. Tick Keep EXIF metadata to keep them.

    iLoveIMG

Not stated for the compressor, and it offers no metadata setting.

  • Thirty photos to crop

    Blinkimg

The editor opens on each result in the batch, with ratio and size presets.

    iLoveIMG

Crop takes one file a task, so thirty photos are thirty tasks.

  • A camera RAW or PSD file

    Blinkimg

Not supported. Export a JPG or PNG from your editor first.

    iLoveIMG

Convert to JPG reads RAW and PSD.

  • A product photo needing a new background

    Blinkimg

No background removal. The editor can fill a transparent background with a colour.

    iLoveIMG

AI background removal: 3 files up to 6 MB on the free plan.

  • Fifty photos in one go

    Blinkimg

One batch of 50, one ZIP.

    iLoveIMG

Two tasks, 30 files and then 20.

Privacy

Is it safe to upload? How each side handles your files

Both are server tools: your images upload, get processed and are deleted on a timer. Here is what each one states.

Blinkimg

  • Deleted within 24 hours

Files are wiped automatically within 24 hours of upload; we keep nothing after that, and never archive.

  • Metadata stripped by default

Camera details and the GPS position stay out of the result unless you choose to keep them.

  • Never trained on, never sold

No image trains a model, ours or anyone else’s, and no person opens your files.

  • Where it runs

Our servers in Boston, United States, with Google’s Northern Virginia region when they are busy.

iLoveIMG

  • Deleted within two hours

Its features page says it eliminates all files within two hours, to combat file theft.

  • ISO/IEC 27001 certified

Its security page states the certification and links the certificate.

  • A Spanish company under GDPR

ILOVEPDF, S.L., of Barcelona, calls itself fully GDPR compliant as a Europe-based company.

  • No documents retained

Its security page says iLoveIMG does not retain user documents.

iLoveIMG deletes faster, and that is a real privacy edge. If a file must never leave your device, use an in-browser tool such as Squoosh.

Questions, answered

iLoveIMG’s figures come from its own pages; ours are the limits the tool enforces and the files the engine produced.

What is the best iLoveIMG alternative?

For batches, exact sizes and modern formats, Blinkimg: 50 images at 30 MB each, a target in KB that is never exceeded, and WebP or AVIF output, 10 files at a time, free with no signup. For AI upscaling or background removal, iLoveIMG stays the better pick. For files that must stay on your device, Squoosh.

Is iLoveIMG safe to use?

By its own pages, yes: iLoveIMG deletes uploaded files within two hours, holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification and, as a Europe-based company, says it is fully GDPR compliant. Blinkimg deletes files within 24 hours, strips GPS by default and never trains on or sells an image.

Who owns iLoveIMG?

ILOVEPDF, S.L., a Spanish company registered in Barcelona, by the terms on iLoveIMG’s own site. The same company runs iLovePDF, which is where iLoveIMG sends PDF jobs, and iLoveAPI, its separate developer product. Blinkimg is not affiliated with any of them.

What are iLoveIMG’s free limits?

Read on its compress page on September 29, 2026: 30 files and 200 MB a task for compress, resize and the JPG converters. Crop takes one file up to 90 MB, the photo editor one up to 50 MB, upscaling one up to 6 MB, background removal 3 files. No daily cap is stated.

How much is iLoveIMG Premium?

$7 a month billed monthly, or $48 a year, by its pricing page. Premium adds 2,000 AI credits, removes ads and raises the per-task limits. Blinkimg Pro costs $2.50 a month or $25 a year, with no ads and 1,500 API credits a month.

Does iLoveIMG have ads?

Yes, on the free plan: its pricing table marks "Ad-free service" as a Premium feature. Premium and its business plan are ad-free. Blinkimg’s paid plans, Pro and Pro Max, are ad-free too, and neither site asks for an account before you compress an image.

Can iLoveIMG convert images to WebP or AVIF?

No. Its Convert to JPG takes WebP, HEIC, RAW and more in, and its Convert from JPG makes PNG and GIF. No tool it lists writes WebP or AVIF. Blinkimg writes both from the same drop: our 1,956 KB iPhone photo measured 473.7 KB as AVIF.

Can iLoveIMG compress an image to a specific size in KB?

No. Its compressor has no setting at all: every image gets what it calls the best quality and filesize ratio. In Blinkimg, type the number into Max file size. Our 576.8 KB reference JPEG landed at 99.7 KB under a 100 KB cap and 48.7 KB under 50 KB.

Does iLoveIMG have an API?

Not on iLoveIMG itself. Its maker sells iLoveAPI, a separate developer product with its own plans. Blinkimg’s image API runs the same engine as the web tool, with 500 free credits a month on every account and packs that never expire. AI agents can call it through an MCP server.

Is there an iLoveIMG app?

Yes. Its pricing page lists a desktop app with no per-task limit on files or size, and phones are served through the iLovePDF app. Blinkimg has no app to install: the site runs in any phone or desktop browser, and HEIC photos go in straight from an iPhone.

Is there a self-hosted alternative to iLoveIMG?

Squoosh is open source under the Apache 2.0 licence, so you can host the web app yourself, though it compresses one image at a time. Blinkimg is a hosted service, not self-hosted software. For a team that must keep files in-house, a desktop tool such as XnConvert, licensed per seat for companies, is simpler.

Does Blinkimg upload my images like iLoveIMG?

Yes. Both are server tools, and we say so plainly. Blinkimg deletes every file within 24 hours, strips EXIF and GPS by default, and never uses an image for training or anything but your job. iLoveIMG deletes within two hours. If nothing may leave your device, use an in-browser tool.

Which sites like iLoveIMG are worth trying?

Pick by the job. For compression, TinyPNG takes 20 images at 5 MB. For privacy, Squoosh and Optimizilla run in your browser. For offline batches, XnConvert reads more than 500 formats. For an exact size, Blinkimg compresses 50 images at once and converts 10 at a time to WebP or AVIF.

Can I trust a comparison written by Blinkimg?

Check it. Each iLoveIMG figure comes from its own pages, read on September 29, 2026, down to the per-task limits its compress page serves, and each is linked in the sources. Each Blinkimg figure is a limit the tool enforces. Where iLoveIMG wins, the page says so first.
