About Blinkimg
Blinkimg is a free image compressor and converter, built by one developer on one engine. The tool, the API and the MCP server all run that engine, and every byte count on this site is the size of a file it actually produced.

The founder
Who builds Blinkimg: one person, in public, with the measurements to show for it
Sahadat builds Blinkimg end to end: the engine, the workers and the pages. Every figure in a post is one the product produced, the blog carries the same name on every post, and those numbers come from the same generated file the tool pages read.

Run by its founder since 2026, with no company behind it yet. Not venture funded, and it does not sell data. People who buy API credits or a Pro plan pay for the free tool, both on the pricing page, and free pages will show ads too.
What runs it
One engine, three surfaces, no second implementation to drift
It decodes five formats and writes four, and the same code answers the browser, the developer API and an agent.
Hits a byte cap, never overshoots
Name a target and it binary-searches quality until the file is under it.
Refuses rather than guesses
An animated file is declined, not flattened to one frame. An impossible size fails with a named error.
One engine, three surfaces
The tool, the developer API and the MCP server answer from the same code, so an agent gets what the browser gets.

How the numbers are made
Every figure is a file the engine produced, not an estimate
A build step runs the reference set through the engine and writes the results into the pages.
- Reference imagesa fixed set, checked in
- The enginerun at build time
- The pagenumbers written in
Nothing is typed by hand, so a published number cannot drift from what the product does.

The reference photo
One of our photographs, an iguana on a branch, kept as a JPG at its own size. It is the default source for the measured tables, so two pages quoting a figure quote the same file.
576.8 KB1920 × 1280
How we measure sets out the sources and the settings, and every measured table links to it.
What happens to your files

Processed, returned, deleted. Nothing is archived.
Never shared
Not sold, not passed on, not used to train anything.
EXIF and GPS stripped
Removed from every output by default, since most people are about to post the photo.
No account to leak
The free tool needs no sign-up, so there is no account of yours to breach.
The privacy policy carries the detail, and is it safe to compress images online walks the whole path a file takes.
